Stumpy Gully Wines – Zantvoort Estate

Stumpy Gully Vineyard remains the pride and joy of the Zantvoort family, who settled in Australia in 1980 and planted their first vines at Mooroduc on the Mornington Peninsula in 1989.

At the Stumpy Gully Winery cellar door you’ll find the winemakers, viticulturists or other members of the Zantvoort family doubling up as cellar door staff.

That’s because, after 25 years, Stumpy Gully Vineyard remains family-owned and run. Meanwhile, many wineries in the Mornington Peninsula region that started out as family concerns have been sold to larger companies.

Everyone likes to come home from a weekend wine trail with stories. At Stumpy Gully cellar door you can hear plenty: the history, the characters, the happy accidents and the real disasters. And, of course, how the wines are grown and made, based on the family’s own ideas of what makes a wine special.

Stumpy Gully Vineyards’ cellar door is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm, only 50 minutes from the Melbourne CBD. It’s right at the start of the Mornington Wine trail at Moorooduc, just off the Peninsula Link freeway at the Mornington-Tyabb Road Exit.

Red Hill Estate

A Mornington Peninsula icon since 1989.

We are a 5 STAR RATED, multi-award winning wine producer situated on a stunning property little over an hour from Melbourne, Australia.

Established in 1989, our property sits in an internationally recognised “Cool Climate” region on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula and currently encompasses 46 acres with 23 acres under vine. Boasting one of the best views from any winery in the world, we are renowned, not only for our fine wines but also for our superb, panoramic views of Western Port Bay.

For the last 25 years, we have produced some of the finest wines from the Mornington Peninsula and our brand is now synonymous with this Cool Climate region. In most years, our wines are exceptional, with the cool, maritime climate mixing with volcanic and sedimentary soils to create wines that are wonderfully textured, complex and elegantly understated.

Our brand architecture allows consumers to discover and enjoy our wines based on pricing and style considerations and we consistently offer exceptional quality wine across a range of styles and price points.

Moorooduc Estate

Established in 1982 by Richard and Jill McIntyre, Moorooduc Estate is a small, family run wine business that has developed an enviable reputation for complex and food friendly wines.

Moorooduc Estate offers some of the finest of Mornington Peninsula wines and hand crafted produce available for tasting and purchase.

Our cellar door is open from 11am-5pm 7 days a week.

Our philosophy in everything we do is to make the most of top quality ingredients. Intensive, hands-on care in the vineyard, with minimal use of chemicals, produces the best possible fruit for our wines. Wild yeast ferments and minimal intervention winemaking, with a nod to traditional Burgundian techniques, allow our wines to express their site specificity, or terroir. Similarly, we aim to source ingredients for the food we serve that are seasonal, local and organic.

Merricks General Wine Store

Between rolling country hills and beautiful coastline, you will find Merricks General Wine Store.

Built in 1924, this iconic destination has transformed from the traditional concept of a ‘general store’ to a culinary must for discerning travellers, locals and wine enthusiasts.

Home of Elgee Park and Baillieu wines, our cellar door also stocks a selected range of friends and neighbours’ wine, to sample and enjoy.

Set above Westernport Bay with views across to Phillip Island, this rustic country bistro provides a beautiful setting for a meal, a snack or a special celebration. The charming dining areas are welcoming and warm. The large front deck looks to the sea while the vine-covered rear deck embraces country and the garden. The cuisine is French-inspired, the staff are very friendly, the venue is welcoming – come and enjoy. Chef Patrice Repellin’s menu reflects the seasons, drawing on fresh local ingredients. The breakfast and lunch menus cater for all ages and appetites. Menus can be designed for special events.

The wine list showcases the best from Elgee Park and Baillieu vineyards and a selected range of Friends and Neighbours.

Elan Vineyard & Winery

Visit this small family run vineyard of 2.5ha in Balnarring.

You can sit and sip in the Rotunda overlooking the vineyard, while your children can enjoy themselves in the playground.

The name Elan was inspired by our desire to produce premium wine made with flair from grape varieties both classic and unusual.

We make estate grown, hand crafted, small quantities of special wines.

Crittenden Estate Wines

Crittenden Estate is an iconic vineyard, winery and wine centre located in the heart of the Mornington Peninsula, one hour’s drive south of Melbourne.

The home vineyard, first planted in 1982, is situated on the lower northern slopes of Red Hill and has ideal conditions for growing traditional cool climate European varieties. Its ideal sandy loam soils, considerable vine age and close proximity Port Philip Bay each contribute immeasurably to the premium wine styles that the Crittenden family have become known for. Crittenden Estate is now known as one of the Mornington Peninsula’s iconic wineries and is a must visit on a winery tour agenda.

After growing up on the farm the second generation of Crittendens are now fully immersed in the running of the business. Garry Crittenden’s son Rollo is now Viticulturalist & Winemaker whilst daughter Zoe takes care of the marketing. The third generation, whilst too young to be helping in the vineyard yet, enjoy the pleasure of being surrounded by vines and dirt.

The range of wines on offer at Crittenden, all available for purchase online and at the Crittenden Wine Centre, reflect Garry and Rollo’s innovative winemaking styles. As one of the first producers in the country to embrace styles from Italy and Spain they have developed a reputation for taking an experimental approach towards their wine making. Tradition, however, also plays a large part in the production of their award winning Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays from an area that is now becoming pre-eminent as one of the country’s most well reputed regions for these two styles.

Crittenden Estate is a centrally located Mornington Peninsula winery in Dromana and is within 15km of the following towns: Red Hill, Main Ridge, Balnarring, Merricks, Point Leo, Shoreham, McCrae and Rosebud.
